Biography
I have always been fascinated with the ocean and the colorful
abundance of life within.
Originally from Switzerland, I moved to Florida to be able to
SCUBA dive and paint my marine encounters. My underwater
journeys help me to capture the essence which is expressed in my
paintings. An essence of timelessness, colors, a celebration of
life.
My paintings are mostly acrylic media on canvas. I use layers of
paint and gel to create a variety of textural surfaces. On some
of the paintings, sand and modeling paste are applied with a
palette knife to build an impasto. Overlays of gold leaf and rice
papers are layered and fused with a heavy gel medium.
